Everything you need to have in your car trunk

Your truck or car is like your second home, so you need to take care of it as much as you take care of your actual home. You need to have a couple of things in your car in case of emergency because we never know what the future holds for us. And, who knows, maybe some of these will come in handy when you least expect it and can be real lifesavers. So, without further ado, let’s get into the list of things that you ought to have in the trunk of your vehicle.

1. Fire extinguisher

This is also a no-brainer and correct me if I am wrong, but you are legally obliged to have at least one or two fire extinguishers in your car. The chances of you needing it, though, are extremely low, but still, you can’t keep everything up to luck’s hand. You have to be proactive as a home, and car owner and you have to be sure that in case of an emergency, you have all the tools necessary to at least stall until help arrives,

2. Jumper Cable

This is a must-have for anyone who owns a car because dead batteries are a thing that can happen to anyone. I learnt this the hard way and my father lectured me for at least two hours for not owning one. It is the cable thing that mechanics use to return your car back to life by giving it juice. Even if you don’t know how it works, just have it and maybe look up a few videos on how to use it.

3. Blanket

This might be a weird thing to have all the time in your trunk, but trust me when I say this can be a real lifesaver. If you are stuck in a rainstorm or are snowed in, a blanket can keep you warm until you can finally move or help around. It also won’t take much as most of the items in this list but can be the one thing that saves you from an unforeseen circumstance.

4. Food and snack

This works hand in hand with the last one; if you are stuck in a snowstorm, you will be stuck there as long as the weather doesn’t calm down. So, the best thing to do in these situations is to sit back, relax and munch on some of your snacks. And, you never know when you can get hungry, and having some snacks in your trunks guarantees that you will never drive hangry and won’t road rage because of that. But remember to always refill your stash before you wouldn’t want it to be empty in a critical situation.

5. Flashlight

It is always to have a big and brightly illuminating flashlight lying around in your car; it can be used as a weapon if it is a heavy metal flashlight and help you if you have to change a tire at night. Flashlights can be very versatile and can be used in different ways and for different purposes. If you are stranded somewhere at night, using your flashlight can be a way for people to find your car easily.

6. First aid kit

As argued previously, your car is almost like your second home, so it needs to have everything that is required in case of an emergency. So, a first aid kit is a necessity, and every car owner should have one in their truck because it will come in handy at some point. Again, you don’t have to wait for something to happen to be proactive; better safe than sorry, as the saying goes.
